Current Purdue Students

The Purdue John Martinson Honors College is a residential college that seeks to educate the whole student and to bridge the gap between curricular and extracurricular learning. The John Martinson Honors College hopes to draw curious, motivated and dedicated students who want to be a part of a community of scholars.

Earn Honors Credits before you join

If you are interested in joining the John Martinson Honors College (JMHC), you are encouraged to enroll in an HONR course. The only requirement to take these courses is a 3.0 GPA, so you do not need to be officially accepted as an Honors student to register. This can help you get a feel for the curriculum and decide on whether or not you would like to apply to join.

Please note that the application to join the Fall 2026 cohort will open on November 10th. The deadline to apply is January 30, 2026.

Selection Criteria

  • Students must have at least four semesters of study remaining at the Purdue West Lafayette and/or Indianapolis locations to be able to complete all requirements.
  • Students must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA or higher. Current freshmen may wait until final grades have posted for fall 2025 before applying.
  • Students must complete the application form.

Continuing and Transfer Student Application Timeline

  • Application opens on Monday, November 10, 2025
  • Applications are due on Friday, January 30, 2026
  • Application review/selection in February 2026
  • Decisions will be sent out March 2026
  • Students must accept admission offer by 5pm on April 10, 2026
  • Admitted students will officially start with the Honors College in Fall 2026
