Honors Research Grant

Research grants available for Honors College students

The Purdue Honors College has funds available to promote independent undergraduate research on campus. Apply for up to $500 for first-time projects, and up to $1000 for continuing research.

To be eligible for this grant, students:

  • must be enrolled in the Purdue University Honors College in good academic standing;
  • must be engaged in scholarly work under the supervision of a faculty mentor;
  • must demonstrate that they do not have, and do not anticipate having, other sources of funding support for their research;
  • must commit to presenting their results in an academic professional context (conference paper or poster, academic publication, etc.)

NCHC Conference Presentation Grant

Proposals due Mar. 28, apply for funding by May 1

The Purdue Honors College is a member of The National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) and is seeking students to participate in and represent us at the annual conference. This year's conference will be held October 12-16, 2016 in Seattle, WA. The Purdue University Honors College has a limited amount of funds available to support students who would like to participate.

HHH Friday Night Lights

Next Fri., Mar. 25 from 6:30- 7:30pm

Lightbulbs

Join Honors Helping Hands and the Office of University Sustainability for Friday Night Lights. Volunteer an hour to turn off lights in classrooms so they will not be left on over the weekend. Sign up early to get a free burrito. Be sure to list the HHH as your organization.

The Journal of Reflective Inquiry

Accepting submissions

Unlike traditional scholarly journals, the Journal of Reflective Inquiry (JORI) seeks articles that reflect on the research process rather than the end-product. Although disciplinary topics may vary widely, all articles should demonstrate thoughtfulness about research and intellectual inquiry. Articles may be the products of classes, independent study, supervised research, honors theses, etc.

Summer Job Opportunity

Seeking Honors College Students to apply as counselors for the 2016 Summer Camps Enrichment Programs for Gifted, Creative, and Talented Youth. Purdue's Gifted Education Resource Institute (GERI) is hiring counselors to work 2 or 4-week sessions with grades 5 - 12 in July. The stipend is $525 per week, with meals and dorm space provided. Students attend from around the world.
