Honors College STAR Student Assistant Openings

How has the Honors College enhanced your Purdue education? What advice would you share with incoming first-year students? The Honors College is accepting applications for two STAR (Summer Transition Advising and Registration) student assistants to help with the Honors College advising sessions. Competitive candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills. Responsibilities will include public speaking and escorting students to registration labs. Any continuing Honors College student may apply.
You must be available from June 13-July 8, and have a flexible schedule allowing for availability in the late morning as well as early/mid afternoon. Pay rate is $8/hr with 12-15 hours per week required. To apply, please email your current resume to Rebecca Krylow at mkrylow@purdue.edu, by February 5th. Review of applications will begin immediately following the February 5th deadline. The request to schedule interviews with finalists will follow shortly thereafter. |

Juniors, seniors (esp. seniors in a 3+2 program), graduate students, and recent alumni now start applications for 2017-18 Fulbright U.S. Student grants. A grant for a post-baccalaureate year in one of 140+ countries is awarded to 1900+ U.S. students nationwide. Do you want to either research or study in your field abroad or teach English? Callouts, overview sessions, and a mixer with international Fulbrighters on campus will show you how to get there.

Meet Douglas George for a presentation titled "Canada's New Government: New Directions for the United States' Biggest Partner". After the presentation, stay for Q&A and dessert reception. George is the Consul General of Canada in Detroit and is responsible for the States of Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. |

Chinese New Year Reception and Celebration

the Confucius Institute will be hosting an all-campus Chinese New Year reception in the PMU South Ballroom to celebrate the Year of the Monkey. This event is free and open to the public, with food, music, dragon dances, and traditional and children’s songs. |
