Academic Adventure: Cincinnati Trip

Sat. Oct. 3 | Register by 5pm on Sept. 30

Elephant House at Cincinnati Zoo

Travel with Honors College faculty and staff to explore different aspects of Cincinnati. Transportation, admission to activities, and dinner will be provided. Choose one of the tours when registering: Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, National Underground Railroad and Freedom Center, Contemporary Arts Center with The Vesper Project performance, or the Taft Museum of Art. There will be a $20 registration fee.

Purdue Honors college students have been tasked with creating the permanent educational aspects of the certification that will showcase to the community the ways the Honors College and Residences are environmentally responsible.

If you are interested in participating in any way, contact Alison Maslar-Donar at amaslard@purdue.edu. No previous knowledge of LEED or green construction needed but beneficial.

LGBTQIA Film Festival

This event is free and open to the public. Go to the Facebook event page to learn more and see trailers of the films in the line-up, including the film Matt Shepard is a Friend of Mine, which will be shown with its director Michele Josue. Service-Learning Poster Session

Students involved in service-learning projects should submit an abstract to the 3rd Annual Academic Community Engagement Poster Presentation, hosted by Purdue's Center for Instructional Excellence.

Council on Undergraduate Research Travel Awards

Awarded on a first come, first serve basis

The Social Science Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is offering a limited number of travel grants, up to $200 each, for undergraduate students presenting the results of research that they have conducted at a regional or national, discipline-specific meeting during the academic year 2015 - 2016. Undergraduate students at any level can apply but preference will be given to juniors and seniors or students attending 2 year community colleges.

Purdue Statistics: Sophomore Transitions

Open to all Majors

Students will conduct research with mentors in Statistics and an applied discipline (of the student's choice). This experience is well suited to students pursuing double majors. For the research project, each sophomore student participant will receive a $4500 academic year stipend (2016-17) and a $4900 stipend in the summer (2017). In addition, students will receive funding to travel to multiple research meetings.
