Prep for the new year

There have been many updates to the Honors College website in preparation for the upcoming year. The current students section of the website has been upgraded for easier access and to better reflect the purpose of the Honors College multi-year experience. We've added a redesigned event calendar that is chock-full of opportunities for social and personal growth. Spring Break courses have been added to the study abroad information page, including a course in Tranyslvania! These are only a few of the updates to the site, so check them out before the semester rolls in.

What are you working on this summer Andrew?

Andrew O'Connor

"I am interning at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama as a member of the NASA Academy leadership development program. This is my second summer as an intern in the materials lab at Marshall, and I'm developing novel conductive ink formulations for in-space printable electronics. Which means I'm making an ink with silver nanoparticles similar to the pigment inks you'll find in any home or office inkjet printer. One day, we'll be able to create entire electronic devices (antennas, computer processors, solar panels, etc.) on the International Space Station by 3D-printing these silver inks onto plastic circuit boards. The NASA Academy experience is an unrivaled summer adventure consisting of hands-on work, engaging lectures by top aerospace leaders & scientists, visits to other NASA field centers (such as Kennedy Space Center in Florida & Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland), and team-building activities like SpaceCamp! I've had yet another incredible summer here at NASA Marshall, and I'm looking forward to returning next year." -Andrew O'Connor
