Spring 2016 Gilman Scholarship Callout

If you have a Pell Grant, you meet the main criterion for a Gilman Scholarship. This info session is for students going abroad in Spring 2016. Gilman sessions for travel in Summer 2016 and Fall 2017 take place on September 21 and 25 during NISO Scholarships Week.

Honors Advising Updates

The Honors College advising team is growing and we are very excited to be expanding supplemental honors advising to support you! Honors College Advisors are now located in the University Residences Support Center (URSC) in Shreve Hall.

Rebecca Krylow, Lead Honors Advisor, will be working with sophomore and junior students. We will begin Honors College advising appointments for first-year students in late September/ early October.

Should you need something before your scheduled appointment, please Rebecca Krylow via email mkrylow@purdue.edu or phone 496.7348 or Catharine Patrone, Director of Student Services via email cpatrone@purdue.edu or phone 494.2929. You may also ask questions by visiting Rebecca or Catharine during walk-in hours.

For the schedule of walk-in honors advising hours, visit the advising page on our website. No appointment is necessary, but a drop-in meeting does not count as your required annual meeting.

SOLAR PANEL PROJECT & DOCUMENTARY

Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 26 and 27

Come learn about a unique opportunity open for all honors students to engage in an interdisciplinary team project that will be the basis for a documentary film.

Training

Tuesday and Thursday Aug. 25 & 27
in the Shreve Hall conference room

Learn the expectations of the Cultural Companions program. Tonight, international Cultural Companions will meet to learn their role in the organization. Then on Thursday domestic Cultural Companions will connect with one another and begin preparing for a semester with their Cultural Companion. This is open only to first-year students in the Cultural Companions program. Email Sashaun Wood at sashaunwood@purdue.edu if you have questions.


Mentor Workshop

Saturday, August 29th, 1:30-4pm in First Street Tower West, lower level conference room

This workshop is designed for new and continuing Honors College Mentors. Come here valuable strategies and tips for boosting morale, managing participation, promoting the community, and developing your own leadership style.
